Welcome to Physics!
Welcome to Physics! I hope you are looking forward to this year of Physics as much as I am. This year, we will be learning all about the workings of the physical world around us and answering questions through PowerPoint and lectures, book work, hands-on group work, and individual practice. Believe me, physics can be fun!
The State Standards are posted on www.cpalms.org. We will learn about a variety of physics topics including:
• Motion, Vectors, & Newton’s Laws
• Momentum, Work, & Power
• Energy
• Heat & Fluids
• Waves (including Light)
• Electricity and Magnetism
We will be revisiting these “Essential Questions” with each new unit throughout the year:
• How do physical principles affect our everyday lives?
• Is it possible to describe the entire natural world with a small number of physical principles?
• Does an understanding of physics help us appreciate nature?
